Hello At first, you are able to sort tabs aphabetically (right mouse on any tab), you can drag/drop tabs and manually change their order. All of it will break tab number 1 to be in left top corner. When you close any numbered tab, rest of the tabs are renumbered.
Switching lines of tab is given by windows control behavior, it's not my idea. You can prevent switching tab lines by changing file tab style to buttons or flat buttons (program settings / Program 1) Shift+Ctrl+O (menu Window) opens open file list with possibility to search/filtering by name and quick switch to tab. -- <https://forum.pspad.com/read.php?4,76246,76249> PSPad freeware editor https://www.pspad.com
