Andre H:

Are you aware of anything comparable to the
.../linux-usb/storage/unusual_devs.h
in the world of direct-attached Ata/Atapi?

I'm inclined to act as if I believed that everyone implementing the host or device
side of Ata/pi violates the standard only when they are unaware of some detailed
implication lost in the voluminous text. For example, true or false, we can pretend
Win95B consciously did not implement transfers of odd byte counts because Ansi
consciously did not supply SwDma protocol to distinguish those from even byte counts.
The more we celebrate which of the many details most often cause trouble in the real
world, the better off we all are.

I am game for certification and I am pushing it in OPEN SOURCE --
"end to end data integrity in filesystems"
That is the goal.
