Hi,

Is anyone able to advise me on the following issue. I have designed an
ATA compliant Hard Drive interface IP. When we run the system in which
it is embedded we sometimes see failures when the following happens:

In ATA mode (UDMA 4 , or Multiword DMA 2) if the host is busy and there
is a long host pause (10s to 100s of milliseconds), the ATA protocol
seems to break. Is there a default timeout embedded in ATA compliant
disk devices? If so how do I disable it.

I would be grateful for any suggestions.

Cheers

        Simonh
