After 16 years of working in the Hard Disk Drive industry at Quantum (and later Maxtor), I have now left the company and the industry. However, I will continue to be active in the storage industry, in that I have now assumed a new position at Oak Technology. Oak Technology is the premier provider of controller chips to CD-RW, CD-RW and DVD-ROM, and DVD rewritable products. Indeed, it is not unreasonable to say that Oak was the enabler for the entire ATAPI interface optical storage industry.
