Maybe they shall, but in fact, commonly, they don't. Currently host and device vendors differentiate themselves by how well they cope when this assumption actually falls apart. I'd rather see us admit this actually does fall part as or more often than a STALL appears in a Scsi over Usb trace, and enhance each Scsi-over-whatever standard to specify a fix. Pat LaVarre
