Andrew,
You can report any issues here on the reflector. I recommend that it is a good idea, especially if discussion is desired. If you believe it is only editorial in nature and you just want to get it onto the editor's list, you can e-mail me directly, I am the T13 editor for ATA-7. We keep a list of editorial issues, and all the changes eventually get reviewed at the meetings.
Please help us out by including the following:
Which version of the document you are using (e.g. d1532v1r2b).
Which clause you are referring to: (e.g. 14.4.21.1)
The paragraph or table entry number or other identifying marker.
The exact wording you wish to replace (cut and paste existing, and add proposed or changed text is best)
We are now using the ATA-7 version 3 (Vol 1, 2, and 3) as our editing drafts. The following are the current documents at http://www.t13.org . Look under project drafts for the following documents:
d1532r2 ATA/ATAPI - 7 revision 3 Vol. 1 PDF <docs2003/d1532v1r3.pdf> ZIP <docs2003/d1532v1r3a.zip> Vol. 2 PDF <docs2003/d1532v2r3.pdf> ZIP <docs2003/d1532v2r3.zip> Vol. 3 PDF <docs2003/d1532v3r3.pdf> ZIP <docs2003/d1532v3r3.zip>
Notice that it is in three volumes now. It is posted in both PDF and ZIP files. The ZIP files are the .doc WORD files. You can cut and paste from those.
Many of the minor editing tasks are deferred until the final edit, as it becomes useless to fix formatting issues over and over again while the documents are changing. We have not started the polishing of the docs yet. Most of the work is still in Volume 3 (the SATA specification volume). Also, there are still a few approved proposals that must be integrated into the volumes.
Thanks for your effort, and we appreciate the editorial comments as well as the technical content comments.

Subject: [t13] Typos or other editing mistakes in ATA-7 spec
This message is from the T13 list server.
Hiya,
I spotted a couple of typos in the T13 spec. Do I report them on this
group, or do I e-mail someone in particular?
I'm afraid I don't have them in front of me, so I can't replicate them
all here for this e-mail. A few are included:
One of them was that IDENTIFY PACKET DEVICE word 80 did not
have bit 7 set as 'supports ATA-7', whereas IDENTIFY DEVICE
does. I'm assuming this is a mistake - am I correct?
Word 80, Bit 3 on both tables is also set for 'supports ATA-3', but
AIUI following release of ATA-7, ATA-3 is declared obsolete, so
these bits are too. Is that correct?
I believe that there are a blank pages inserted in the PDF versions
of the spec splitting the IDENTIFY DEVICE table and the IDENTIFY
PACKET DEVICE table too - these seem unintentional.
If I know this is the correct place, I'll pass them on. If it's not, could
someone tell me where these should go?
Best wishes,
Drew
Andrew Hill
