Question to HDD folks:

When an area of the disk gets carved off using the "Set Max Address"
command, do the disks actually carve off at the ending LBA range on the
disk, or does any disk carve off in other locations and just fix-up the
LBA addresses?

In other words, do the carved-off logical address range always
correspond to the ending physical blocks, or do they possibly exist
elsewhere?

Thanks, MKE.
