Thanks Bob!! Is it the protocol state machines in ATA/ATAPI-7v2 that you are referring to? One more question: If a READ DMA command is pending, can a READ DMA QUEUED be sent? Is that allowed? If so, does the spec say that the READ DMA should be completed before sending data for the QUEUED command? I think these should be mentioned in the spec in text. It will also cause the queue to abort. -Bob "Yamini Shastry" <[EMAIL PROTECTED] s.com> To Sent by: "'John Masiewicz'" [EMAIL PROTECTED] <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> rg cc No Phone Info <[email protected]> Available Subject [t13] Queued DMA Command 04/22/2005 10:36 AM Hello, On a SATA link with devices that support command queuing, can a DMA QUEUED command (read or write) and a DMA non-queued command be pending at the same time? In other words, Can a SATA Host send a READ DMA QUEUED followed by a READ DMA while the first command is pending? If not, can anyone point me to the spec that says so? Thanks, Yamini
