Remember, 10 years ago was 1995... This was the start of Windows 95
and IE. I am not 100% certain, but I think that x86 with IDE was the most
popular platform of the time. ATAPI had already been introduced, and there
were a whole host of issues regarding CHS and LBA.

Ten years ago, the majority of the computers on the Internet were not
Windows PCs with IDE hard drives :)
