In reviewing the minutes, I noticed section 8.1.7 regarding the ATAPI support restrictions in ATA/7 for GPL.  It sounds like steps are being taken to clarify this in ATA/8, but are there any clarifications which will be made to ATA/7 (errata or other)?  At this time, devices designed to ATA/7 would be non-compliant if they supported GPL because of the noted limitations that currently exist with WRITE LOG EXT.  I agree that this should be addressed in ATA/8 as we are working on it, but I also feel that for SATA ATAPI device support a clarification in ATA/7 is also warranted.

Was this discussed at the last plenary?  Could this be included as a part of the existing ATA/7 errata under review?

Regards,

Brian
