Jim

I thought we were still mulling over word 87 bit 4 (a valid
configure stream has been issued). This would allow an independent host
process to have a hint about streaming being active.

from penetrating. The bozone layer, unfortunately, shows little sign of
breaking down in the near future.

Subject: [t13] re: e05154r2 - streaming cleanup

While reviewing this, I noticed that the summary is missing some items
* the HSE bit has been made obsolete

In addition, if the streaming performance log is obsoleted, we also have
to obsolete the 'delayed lba log', because it's only reference is from the
performance log section.
      - remove 'delayed lba' from the glossary
      - obsolete both sections 7.32.2.6 and 7.32.2.7 (ata8-acs rev 2)
      - obsolete the perf. log and delayed lba log in table 34
      - in the streaming feature set description
we need to state that both of these logs are obsolete,
so that someone just doesn't think they were
            accidently left out.

Additional changes to IDENTIFY DEVICE required
      - mark obsolete: word 84, bits 9 & 10
      - mark obsolete: word 87, bits 4, 9, 10
(in table 12 and in the text)

Additional changes to SET FEATURES required
      - enable/disable read lookahead
            - needs a disclaimer about the impact on streaming
(or say that streaming requires it enabled ?)

Thank You !!!
