I believe the N/A setting for bit 4 is correct. This means that a
drive is free to set this bit or not... Since some hosts still check for
50h as opposed to bit 7=0 and bit 6=1 we still set bit 4 for many commands.
In ATA8-ACS, the SCT clause uses the smart commands and to the best of my
knowledge does not modify the status bits at all.

It seems that some of the SCT documents want the SCT commands ([SMART] R/W
LOG [EXT]) to use Status bit 4 (the old SKC bit) - I see that these
commands should end with status of 50H or 51H. This seems to disagree with
the ATA-8 ACS normal and error status tables for the SMART and R/W LOG
[EXT] commands where Status bit 4 (that old SKC bit) is defined as N/A.
Isn't the more correct ending status for an SCT command either 40H or 41H?
