This is a simple question, but could someone please point me to a discussion on the difference between the type of receivers mentioned in the 10a standard (tracking, non-tracking and oversampling as mentioned at the top of p274)?  I can find info on oversampling, but nothing yet on tracking vs. non-tracking.  Thanks in advance for any help.

Subject: [t13] Issue #141

SET MAX ADDRESS has the following statement:

“A successful READ NATIVE MAX ADDRESS command shall immediately precede a SET MAX ADDRESS command.”

This places a requirement on the host and does not actually describe the issue.

This is my proposed resolution:

“If the SET MAX ADDRESS command is not preceded by a successful READ NATIVE MAX ADDRESS command, the drive may abort the SET MAX ADDRESS command or execute one of the following commands: SET MAX SET PASSWORD, SET MAX LOCK, SET MAX UNLOCK, SET MAX FREEZE LOCK.”

The real outcome of this command when it is not preceded by a READ NATIVE MAX depends on the Feature field which is marked N/A…
