I believe it can be done. I will check with my contacts, there are a number
of possibilities. For one avenue, any version of Cadence would be okay, for
some others, the version might be important
I'm assuming that there *is* an ASCII format for Cadence that RSI can
translate.
If there is not, it is still possible to translate designs, if gerber is
available, but it could be a bit more cumbersome for a single board; if
many boards are being done, it would not be so bad. The basic idea is that
one reconstructs components from their gerber representation; track and
other primitives are easy to import from gerber. Rules will be lost, of
course, but that may not be too great a loss. Complex padstacks could be
another difficulty.
