Hi Guys,

Me again.

I'm finally back on deck after replacing the MDACs.
Previously I stated that I was not keen to fiddle with these as past
experiences have not been very rewarding. But this time I figured there was
not much more I could break so I bit the bullet and installed them after
which things burst into life.

While waiting for the download of the MDAC, I began preparing a new hard
disk which I got to the stage of Win98 + Protel99SE only (sledgehammer
approach!).
But even in this minimal state I was able to boot and run Protel
successfully. If the new MDACs didn't fix it I was at least on my way to a
working system. Probably worth keeping for the day that Murphy gets really
angry....

Colby, I ended up loading the 2.5 drivers. I will wait until I get clear of
some of the work that has been piling up before going for 2.6

My sincere thanks to everybody who spared time to offer their suggestions
and help with this problem. It would probably have been a longer and harder
path back without you.

Thanks again,
