Yes, I've heard of people that switch back and forth, and manage to not
go nuts!

Yes, supposedly, they can type faster, for longer, with less hand/arm
fatigue, with the Dvorak.

The FAA flicht controller station looks like that (at least the old ones).
Some CNC controls also have alphabetical panels. I don't think people
type many real english words on these, however.
