Thanks for posting your interesting link, Phil.

The fact that ORCad has essentially a search engine build in to source
electronic parts is good. I see this as making the job of a buyer very
efficient. I found the recent introduction of a p.w.b. quote engine a bit of
a kludge. The only way I could see this tool as being valuable, if the board
house database was approved by veteran Protel users on this list. I do not
consider myself this highly, at this point in time.

My point is, issues that quality control would not become an issue by
accepting a low bit from this supposed tool. Ebay has a philosophy of rating
sellers in this respect. A link to such a ratings page, bases on a builders
performance/speed would be good. It could also state a builders
capabilities/limits. I may be in the dark on this, but I am not aware of
many board houses that have Protel as a working tool versus PCAD. Yes, I
have generally used Gerber outputs in the meantime and some may argue,
rightfully, that one should never let a board house have design influence.
Mr. Lomax may have some valuable insight in this respect.

Finally, for those not aware of it,

is a good reference for sourcing electronic parts in addition to providing
substitute research. I hope that all find this link useful.
