First of all, Congratulations Manish (the hardware guru, I have to admit. :-) and Ujwal). I am a bit lost here. Although I am assuming this project is just at it's initiation phase, what do you mean manage the chips ? Does it mean like you guys will be developing some hardware implementations + software implementations sth like a linux module on userland or will it be something that is implemented in the kernel ? Also may I ask which linux kernel will be the testing ground ? If you plan to write for linux kernel, it must be approved by the guys at lkm. If they don't, badluck.
