Subject: [Asiasource2-participants] Google Summer of Code
To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Guys n Gals,

The biggest student event in the Open Source world, the Google Summer of
Code, is getting under way. Google picks the best OpenSource projects
from the Students' applications and fund them for the project every
year, and the funding is around $4500.

IMHO, I consider this THE biggest award a student can ever get. It also
encourages OpenSource contribution, as the students must contribute to
some existing Open Source project in most cases.

So if you are a student of some sort, keep an eye on the Google Site: (I
think it kicks off on the 14th of March)

http://code.google.com/soc

P.S: I was a Google SoC winner last year <blowing my own trumpet ;)>. At
AS2, I didn't manage to catch any others, although I met Ravindra and
Jeremy, who were mentors for the same.

Lets rock this time around

I'll blog the stuff if I have the time.

Regards

Mifan
