Sajan,
In my opinion Ubuntu 6.10 is best for your personal computing. It is easy
to use as well as the availability of packages is best from ubuntu. Ubuntu
supports most of laptop's specification and driver compatibility. It comes
on single CD and you can update easily from Internet. If you have any
broadband (Cable) Internet then you can download it from wlink server
http://opensource.wlink.com.np/ubuntu/releases/6.10/ubuntu-6.10-desktop-i386.iso

If you want to install Fedora then Fedora core 6 is right choice.
You can get Fedora from http://opensource.wlink.com.np/fedora/6/
