Fossian will need to identify why it is boring. After all, all these
presentations and everything is for benefit of all. If majority of the
people don't want presentation, then it should be hacked and different
form/method of conveying knowledge should be used. 

For example, the meetup could involve as pointed out, video's of Google
techtalks, a movie about technology or some miniconfs video. To begin
with an excellent video by Dr. Andy Tanenbaum that he gave at
linux.conf.au 2007 is available for download @

There are many more video available @

These could be starting point. Just a suggestion.
