Few things are quite clear. Ya definitely, we can't jump into this unless we have some good results in the pilots. And I think our OLPC team has been onto this. They have been working on localizing some of the activities and contents for OLPC. In fact we already have a very active group working in management, curriculum, development and deployment too. 1) OLPC team is doing its best to make this project a success. They do have > the technical and financial resources required to do that. only question that rises in my mind is that should Nepalese or Pakistani people / government pay for the experiment for Negroponte's concept? In my opinion for these pitols ( at least) OLPC should bear all the necessary fundings. 2) M$ and Intel's have joined hands to launch a similar machine which will > cost $300 or so. ( This really means something :) what is this $300 laptop for? can u share with us? 3) If a student in his first 5-6 years of education starts playing with > linux and other OSS tools, he is most likely to continue this > in his higher studies and professional career. Ya that is the concern and should be a concern for every nationals of countries like ours. -- > > Regards, > > Sufyan Kakakhel > OSRC, PSEB > Ministry of IT, Pakistan. > http://www.osrc.org.pk > On 5/26/07, Sagun <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > > > Dear OLPC team, > > > > I think it was some of the good questions that Sameer asked last time > > during the workshop.
