This is more for starters, Yep, getting into a forum, mailing list can be a new and sometimes intimidating thing. More so if you are not acquainted with looking at things objectively. It seems like everyone knows more than you, everyone seems so active and you are afraid to comment and say what you think. Yeah, some ideas do get turned down and even flamed. But keep an open mind. Noone's an enemy of anyone here. Keep your speech normal (don't use vulgarity.. in a overtly expressive manner). Thing you need to learn is to take things scientifically... learn to put your ideas forth coz that's the only way its going to get heard. One of my teachers said that "If a class isn't making noise, it probably isn't listening" [hah, holy Einstein!] the point I'm making is, a forum, IRC, mailing list is there for discussion, brain storming. So don't be afraid to talk and comment. Some posts here might seem like some of us have some kinda rivalry.. it isn't we just discuss what we think is right, evaluate.. then plan.. that's how things work. Its intimidating for sure but don't be, it's natural.. just go with the flow and you'll be fine.
Cheers, Prasanna PS. Should've worked more on it.. still the thing is don't get afraid to ask.. to put your ideas forth.. however dumb or super smart you think it is for a forum... Can anyone elaborate on this.. i believe sth like this should go in the forum's sticky list --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ FOSS Nepal mailing list [email protected] http://groups.google.com/group/foss-nepal Community website: http://www.fossnepal.org/ -~----------~----~----~----~------~----~------~--~---
