Hey Shanku :),

It's strange, rather unusual this topic's come up here. I was discussing
about FOSS vs. Proprietary softwares in relation to adoption in
government institution with one of my friend and I still couldn't
convince him that FOSS would be better than Propietary software. :(
It was rather heated discussion. I'll save it for next time.

To the point now, I'd at least say covering these could help -
1) Introduction - FOSS philosophy
2) FOSS softwares available that can compete with it's proprietary
counterpart (could be supplimented with real benchmarks if needed)
3) Global ethusiasm behind FOSS
4) Security, Usability, Cost metrics and Maintenability of FOSS softwares.
5) Throw in some FUDs - how braindead are Non-FOSS programmers. This is
called marketing in today's age. Free softwares can & should market as
much as possible.
6) Where FOSS is heading in Nepal and it's global state currently.
7) Limitations of FOSS (i.e, what it can't promise. This is a big one because
not every software demand can be covered by FOSS).

Cheers
