Dear NepaLinux enthusiast and Real Fossians, Its the Pleasure of MPP to state that, it has unveiled another successful NepaLinux LTSP implementation project in Bhuvaneshwori Secondary school, in Dadhing , Dharke. Along with this, MPP under the Bhashasanchar project has implemented NepaLinux with LTSP in three schools. (Dailekh,Phulchoki, Dhading). Other ongoing project in collaboration with ENRD for tele-centers and remote villages are on queue.
A team consisting of four people me, Sharad, and Shristee madam from MPP and Min Sir, from Rato Bangala had a trip to Dhading today. The travel was exciting and little bit adventurous, since the Bus get trapped in the local river. But, luckily with the help of students from Bhuvaneshwori and our effort for about 30 minute, we successfully got away from it. The teacher and students are really exhilarated, by having computers. They express their wonders along with full of joy for handling computers completely in Nepali language. LTSP enabled NepaLinux DVD contains both GNOME and KDE environment, with most of the educational packages.Others such as school wikipedia etc have to be installed manually. For LTSP configuration in NepaLinux its rather easy just install it, and configure your Network card to have IP 192.168.0.1/24, and enable the thin client to boot from network. The future of NepaLinux LTSP project is very bright. Yes, I can't deny it has certain weakness in some functionality, They would be solved soon. But it don't expect demoralizations from Fossians in its implementation. I am confident that, MPP would take initiative to make the formal site for LTSP in Nepal, and one standard course ware like curriculum for LTSP. Lets hope that all most all of the schools would get computers, and our Nepalese child can enjoy the beauty, and power of ICT. Don't cry for Lucrative projects, Lets make the NepaLinux LTSP a mega success. -- NepaLinux LTSP daya, lets share the knowledge, "A candle doesn't lose anything by lighting another" --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ FOSS Nepal mailing list: [email protected] http://groups.google.com/group/foss-nepal To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Community website: http://www.fossnepal.org/ -~----------~----~----~----~------~----~------~--~---
