with cable i dont think you would have problem to connect to internet. But dont know about WLink. I am using netplus cable connxn and it connects: as soon as open the browser, the login page of netplus appears and just login and surf the Net.
The ip is obtained from DHCP of ISP as soon as cable is connected. So never faced problem for internet.
