Dear all, I is a good idea to train the FOSS members, but, I don't thing giving Linux training only means giving training of RHCE. there is beyond RHCE. All the topics covered in RHCE are not used in daily jobs. So I suggest following topics to be covered so that after training the trainee can do work in any organization. 1. Basic commands 2. Installing Nepali fonts and unicode 3. Bash scripting and string manipulation 4. Installation Linux Server/client from CD and Network 5. Installing configuring Network File system 6. Basic of LDAP 7. HTTP 8. FTP 9. Samba 10. basic of Bandwidth management 11. Basic of SNMP and MRTG graph 12. Security and iptables 13. creating Router and bridge in Linux. 14. etc.
It is only my suggestion not compulson, If time permit, I may work as resource persion for the community in this training program. My next suggestion, Why not provide training not only to active members, but welcome new members of different colleges to join the training, It can be motivating factor for them to join FOSS nepal. Thus, as they publish this event to their college, more new members can join FOSS-Nepal. regards, Shiba On Fri, May 2, 2008 at 1:08 PM, प्रबीण ( ओपन ठिटो ) <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Dear all, > I was wondering about what we can do soon in future.. any program, > campaign,competition.....etc. > > My mind stuck to.....RHCE course. > Since we have few RHCE'd members in FOSS Nepal, Why not FOSS Nepal start a > RHCE training program for the community members? > I am talking about course ...not certification........
