Regarding the ADSL and optical fibre connection, ADSL technology implemented
is just to optimize the existing copper network of NTC. So Optical fibre
networks and any other networks do not work. (discard if this message
becomes more noviced to some geeks here).
I just want to mention something I know about ADSL here.
The total available frequency band of copper cable is separted into three
frequency slots as follows.
| ---- _______ ------- |
(a) (b) (c).
Here, the first slot (a) is used for voice communication. In the previous
days of using dial up connection, why phone line used to become busy was
because this same voice channel was used for data transfer too.
Now in ADSL, the remaining frequency slot is also utilized by alocating (b)
for downslink and (c) for uplink. ADSL2+ has maximum of 24Mbps downlink
capaciy, and 1Mbps of uplink capacity, and ADSL 2+ is the technology
implemented by NTC. This is why slot (a) is always free unless any phone
call is made/received.
Just for some thing technical. If you want something related the frequency
ranges and etc details refer en.wikipedia.org or something else.
