Well, previously i thought it might not be gr8 idea to begin this thread but then i decided to be a little bold(:D) and put forward this question (maybe again) to our community. ( and i'm not even sure if this should have been an offtopic thread ) Considering that you are/have been doing >serious< web design / web > development (or maybe thinking to begin) , it would be great if ideas could > be shared about how do you come to the decision about making the final > quotation on the project ? > ( and please i'm asking SERIOUS web design/development, by which i mean not a first-time or fun project ) I would also like to clarify some reasons for me putting up this question. The first reason is that i've seen a lot of discrepancies in the price regarding web design/development here in our country. I guess it must be the same everywhere else, but then still we've a lot of startup companies here charging really less, and then big houses who then have a really posh menu for all the items they do. Yeah, i do believe that there must be some kind of quality thing on those big houses, but maybe not that much ( well i say that because i've seen how things happen when deadlines come hissing around your shoulders ) The other reason i'm putting up this question is that recently when i had to give my views regarding this same subject to a friend, i found myself in a really difficult situation, but then i escaped the easy way, i said " Ummmmmmmmm..... well, it depends ! " , hehe There also might a other reasons which i am not remembering right now as i type this, bu then still the question is " How would/do you charge ? " Well, i know, "it depends......" on the type ( eg Static vs Dynamic, complexity of the database to be handled, target group etc etc ) But then it would be really great if everyone would put their personal opinions here( as a developer/designer who has to make money, yeah money i say ! ), and yes ! you could even elaborate it with classifications please ! It would be really interesting to see our market figures being discussed here, and maybe this discussion could also help some people who are out there confused/intimidated to directly ask for a standard figure.
