Hello All, CWIN Nepal together with SAP International and other organizations have launched a campaign on "protecting children online in nepal". The objective of the campaign is to aware and educate parents, teachers and related stakeholders on internet behavior of children and their exposure to porn in the internet. In this regard, we want to explore different options of internet filter softwares that can be installed in individual PCs (mostly windows based :)) that will be used by children at their homes, schools and cybercafes. There are many such filter softwares available in the internet. However, as a believer of FOSS, I want to know from the community if there are any specific softwares that u guys would like to recommend.
Also, we are looking for the possibility of customizing and localizing such software to meet the need of Nepalese parents, children and teachers. I would be happy if FOSS Nepal can join the initiative as well and be part of this very good social campaign. We are also exploring the possibility of having a free distribution of the selected filter softwares during CAN Infotech.... So, if the community can join the initiative..........we would be very delighted. Looking forward to hear from you guys.
