Dear all, I Have initiated this thread to discuss on Curriculum for FOSS Essential Training.
As from last email i had sent: * Participants - Having had previously targeted students for basic OSS training, this time we wish to target a mixed group of participants who can benefit from the alternatives for Enterprise, Business and Commercial alternatives over Proprietary Softwares. We want to include participants ranging from business house to students from Business background, so that we can diversity FOSS in a group other than core Linux and OSS users. This could be amoung our first initiative to foray into the commercial Software realm.* I think we have to identify possible sectors of society who can be the participants. From my head: Police, Army, NGO, Govt office, Traffic Police, Hospital, Small business houses, media house, 3d designer, books publishers. We can include tools like General: 1. latex for documentation, which is essential in all mentioned fields... 2. openoffice.org for office, 3. eXe for making notes and tutorials Specific: 1. blender for designer 2. Unicode, scribus etc for media house 3. ... In this way we have to identify and find solutions for all sectors we are going to penitrate.. Please continue..
