Atheros wireless cards are detected in RestrictedDevicemanager. You should enable the driver.
Incase the restricted device manager is not working, try running jockey-gtk program and see if it lists your driver. This is with respect to original Ubuntu, since Ubuntu Ultimate is supposed to be built on top of it, I hope it works.
