If not in trash,
Stop writing or doing anything on that partition now because when you
delete anything the data is not removed, only the entry of the file
from the file system table is removed and you might overwrite that
data. When we explore through a disk we only see the files that have
entry in the file-system table, but every sector in the disk has some
data. Some softwares like testdisk and photorec (which i have used in
Windows though) can search all sectors for deleted files by checking
the unique bytes from the header of each kind of file. I used testdisk
to recover partitions and photorec to recover documents, really great
softwares. I highly recommend you to use these.
