(This technique works well on fedora, but might work on others too).
1. Boot the computer in recovery console (from CD/DVD).
2. Chroot to the actual filesystem.
3. At the terminal, execute grub-install <device_node> (replace
<device_node> with your actual device node on which linux is
installed, e.g. /dev/sda)
4. Reboot.
