your network might have been disabled due to some reason. go to control
panel then to network and sharing centre. on the top left , there is a link
"change adapter settings". click enter it and there you see a list of
networks whose interfaces you have installed in your computer. (one should
be 'Local area connection' showing your lan card). right click and enable
it. hope this might solve the problem
