Dear all:

Kathmandu University Open Source Community (KUOSC) is organizing a 3 day
long Open Source exposure and training program called* Linux Talks
2010*starting from 6th June 2010 at the Department of Computer Science
and
Engineering of Kathmandu University. This program is the continuum of the
Linux Talks series of program that KUOSC has been organizing since long.

At Kathmandu University, we have various disciplines of science, engineering
and arts studying together. This training will basically be focused on
exposing this diverse mass to concepts of FOSS and at the same time teach
them the basics of using Linux. Because we are focusing on students from
science and arts as well, we will not be dealing only with the hard core
linux stuffs like Linux terminal, /etc/ etc but will also try to incorporate
topics like "Using Firefox addons to be an internet power-user", "Increasing
productivity using Compiz" etc that might be interesting and helpful to
everybody.

The program will be held after the college hour ie 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm so we
are expecting maximum participation from students. Some teaching faculties
have also shown interest in taking the training. So we are very much
enthusiastic about this as well.

We want suggestions from the community to make this program more effective
and successful. May be, you can suggest what can be a better way to present
the concept of open source and Linux to the students of science and arts. Or
anything that might be relevant to our training.

Details about the program and the web link of the registration can be found
