First and foremost I would like to applaud the work of people involved
in the recent ubuntu localization program at Panauti. I wish I was
there, but I was in a small village, about an hour's ride from
Melamchi.
There I found out that the village, and similar villages in the area,
have had a lot of donation of computer hardware. the village itself
had 12-15 computers, but none were being used. The reason was two
folds --- first people did not know how to use, second people did not
know how to read english properly.
In both cases I think FOSS Nepal as well as the ubuntu localization
program can help. FOSS Nepal could run training camps while localized
ubuntu could be made available to these people. If a tool like Ailurus
(http://code.google.com/p/ailurus/) were to be localized then help
also could be on-hand when experts are not there.
