But you must first start with the Desktop part of Linux, if you're not yet familiar with it. To start with, you can test live CDs of Fedora or Ubuntu, so that you can play around. After having acquainted with it, you can try installing it then. And later on you can explore various aspects of Linux and open source software. Almost all of the Linux distribution and/or software come with a plenty of documentation including the installation notes which you will find in their websites. So refer to those documentations. If you run into problem which is not addressed in their documentation, you can post your queries to their forums (and also to FOSS Nepal's mailing list). These are the things that you can do:
* Subscribe to FOSS Nepal's mailing list (if you have not done yet).
* Download Live CD Image of Fedora or Linux (alternatively you can
ask me or someone from the community for the CDs)
* Search for the related documentation, and go through them
* Post problems to the related forums/discussion-groups and FOSS
Nepal's mailing list (have patience for the reply, as it might not
come immediately)
* While posting problems/queries be specific, detail the background,
and attach the log and/or mention the error message encountered.
