Dear Bishisht and friends It is very easy to criticize any existing company, but running these companies are very hard. you guys are right that all Private ISPs are here to earn money but not to give service to public. Remember these companies are private business housed and the primary motive of business houses are to earn profit in their investment. Nepal lacks the Network Infrastructure which require these companies to invest more on research and investigation, so the price of Internet is high.
Unless the government take any action to build Network infrastructure common for every ISPs, the price of Internet will not decrease. This initiative also help governments to enforce cyber law and security. After i read the statement about Internet from government body in Nagarik news "the user who uses bandwidth >= 1Mbps are only VoIP pirates" I don't expect that government is taking any initiatives in building better Internet services. So, we should take help INGOs to build network infrastructure in Nepal. threading CEOs of ISP is not the solution, because they don't case us. But, we should try to show the value of Internet to government. These days all the educational resources are found in Internet, so I thinks even home users (students) need minimum of 1Mbps bandwidth to use theses resources effectively. So, I think we should encourage government to build infrastructure and show the importance of Internet, which will directly force the ISPs to decrease price. Otherwise building Groups/forums and threading ISPs will never decrease the price. Because they are doing their best in limited infrastructure and resources and high competitions between these private ISPs. Friends who know me don't be surprised to see my mail in FOSS Nepal after may be 4 years of gap. me always there reading others mail.
