Try installing new version of virtualbox( i think 3.2). I too used to get some(not same) errors due to older version of vbox. After installing new version it got solved. After update on my system my version is 3.6.12pre(name is Namoroka). It is working fine. Try installing firefox after downloading .deb file from the mozilla website. Though it is better to use command line installation then .deb files. You can also try beta version.(I have 3 firefox installed right now) Only problem is the Echofon addon is not fully functional. I can read tweets but cant send any. Not able to write in the textbox of Echofon. But my display is good as usual.
