Please post details about your wifi card....
For a dialup connection..
1) Click on Your network icon on notification area.
2) Click Edit connection
3) On the DSL Tab Click Add
4) Enter username and password and you should be done..
If you are on laptop then please send lspci -k and if your wifi device
is USB type then please send lsusb -v
