Organizing Kathford Fest 2011 A whole day program is going to be organized @ Kathford International College of Engineering and Management as Kathford Fest 2011. Various programs will be conducted with movie show and games. Following are the events going to be held on the day: 1. Distro Demo – D...emonstration of variou...s Linux Operating System 2. Software Demo – Demonstration of various Open Source Software 3. Movie Show – Short 2D and 3D movies 4. Linux Installation Camp – Bring your laptop and we install Linux on them on the spot 5. Linux Rescue Cell – People will help you solve any problems that you have encounter 6. Talk Shows – Talks on different topics 7. Presentations – Presentations on various topics 8. Open Hardware – Session on Open Hardware (Nepaliuno, a clone of Arduino) 9. Gaming Competition 10. GB Satasat – Come and exchange the open resources/ other resource you have with you. 11. ELMS server activation and its information 12. Digital photography 13. Bloging 14. Web 2.0 15. Exhibition of final year projects.
Last year Kathford fest was organize by our MSPs but this year it is going to be different.Since FOSS community is also formed, we are planning to organizing this fest along with the MSPs. Some of the programs may be added later. What i am looking from FOSS Nepal is a resource person who can make us understand about Free and Open Source Software, for that we can organize a talk show in a hall on that day at the beginning of the program. Also later on we may conduct FKK session also. Tell me your view.
