Alan Turing was born in 23 June 1912 and died in 8 June 1954 in the age of 42. The British mathematician Alan Mathison Turing visualized the modern computer in 1936. In 1936, at the University of Cambridge, Alan Turing astound up the fundamental principle of the modern computer – the computer's operations by coded instructions stored in its memory. Consequently in other words today’s digital computers are ‘Turing machines’. Turing worked on the design of the ACE (Automatic Computing Engine). He presented a paper on about the first detailed design of a stored-program computer. To respect him The Turing Centenary Advisory Committee of various Universities and organizations are celebrating diverse activities in 2012. Manchester University provides a rich context for the Turing Centenary celebrations. Here are some links to see about Turing and hi centenary celebration.

Abū Abdallāh Muḥammad ibn Mūsā al-Khwārizmī (Today’s algorithm) (c. 780,– c. 850) was a Persian mathematician. To read al-Khwārizmī’s knowledge (Algorithm) there is no proprietary license. Then why expensive license to read and test Turin’s automatic computing engine. Can we discuss on it ? If we are ready to discuss it please formed a Turing centenary celebration committee under FOSS Nepal and celebrate the event with new trends in Computer education in 2012. I have some idea in my mind to drag the authoritative Gos, and Ngos to this event. I will explore it in appropriate time.
