HI all,

I have a Dell C840 PIV laptop. It has a trackpoint and a toucpad. Both work
fine in windows. But in linux mainly ubuntu, xubuntu, mint, it gives some
strange problem. There is no problem in Backtrack-4.

The problem is something like "extended single click". If i click a file,
folder, link etc once.. the click remains there and it is hard for me to
click another file, folder, link without clicking for 7-8 times which is
really very irritating. Also after that sometimes when i move the mouse.....
the files/folder/links etc tries to exhibit drag and drop, for eg: If i
click on a file, the click remains there and when i move the mouse the file
comes along with the pointer. The problem shows even if i use a USB or PS/2
mouse. I dont know what exactly is the problem but i guess it is someting
like extended click?

I tried all the settings in mouse properties, dpkg-reconfigure
xserver-xorg-input-mouse. But none worked. So if anyone has any other ideas
of reconfiguring mouse properties then please share.

Thanks.
