This question is tough one to beat! :) Use which ever you prefer. I use OpenBSD+Xfce on my netbook which runs great for my use. It's light, free and secure. It all depends on what you want it for. If it's for web browsing, email etc, you can use Ubuntu with Flux or Xfce (if you've never used Ubuntu, I suggest you install it and play around with it for a while before you get a feel of what it is). Getting to your point, Linux desktop editions (in general) means it'll have more binaries available, more full-fledged packages and things like that. On the other hand netbook editions have only essential packages installed for web browsing, internet, email, word processing etc. HTH -- Regards Ishwor Gurung Key id:0xa98db35e Key fingerprint:FBEF 0D69 6DE1 C72B A5A8 35FE 5A9B F3BB 4E5E 17B5 -- FOSS Nepal mailing list: [email protected] http://groups.google.com/group/foss-nepal To unsubscribe, e-mail: [email protected] Mailing List Guidelines: http://wiki.fossnepal.org/index.php?title=Mailing_List_Guidelines Community website: http://www.fossnepal.org/
