Kath-Fest 2011
As continuation of last year event, we are organizing this event
making it more informative and effective. We have included various new
programs in this fest.
Kath-Fest 2011 Organizing Committee and Kathford FOSS Community is
going to organize “Kath-Fest 2011” in the coordination of all
faculties at the Kathford Int’l College premises with the new ideas
and innovations. We seek help from any entity all around for any kind
of support.
Following events are going to be held on given schedule:
• Distro Demo – Demonstration of various Linux Operating System
• Software Demo – Demonstration of various Open Source Software
• Movie Show – Short 3D movies are to be shown
• Linux Installation Camp – Bring your laptop and we install Linux on
them on the spot
• Linux Rescue Cell – People will help you solve any problems that you
have encounter in Linux
• Quiz Competetion – Intra college Quiz Competition
• Talk Shows – Talks on different topics
• Documentary Show- Documentary related to Information & Technology
will be shown
• Presentations – Presentations on various topics
• Open Hardware – Session on Open Hardware ( Nepaliuno, a clone of
Arduino)
• Open Gaming – Play computer network games
• GB Satasat – Come and exchange the open resources + other contents
you have with you
• Developers' Ubuntu – One Ubuntu Linux DVD that would have everything
a developer needs (made by NOSK using Ubuntu Customization Kit)
• Open Art – Open drawing competition
• Digital photography
• Bingo
• Live Concert
• Food stall
• College counseling

• Demonstration of Chromium OS (from pendrive)
2. Software Demonstration
• Demonstration of Inkscape
• Demonstration of Blender
• Demonstration of GIMP
• Demonstration of Open Office
• Demonstration of Compiz for Desktop Effects
• Demonstration of portable applications in windows from pen drive
3. Movie show
• Short 3D movies with 3D glasses
4. Linux installation camp
On the spot linux installation can be done in this event. If you have
a laptop and want to install linux in your laptop you are most
welcomed to be a part of this event.
5. Linux rescue cell
All the linux users who are having any problems with their system can
bring their system and get it fixed.
6. Quiz Competition
Random questions related to open source and technology will be asked
every hour. Those participants who think they know the answer can drop
their answer and a random winner will be selected every hour.
7. Talk shows (12pm to 2 pm)
Talk shows on various technical topics related to open source,
Robotics and Information & Technology will be conducted. Talks will be
conducted by distinguished guests and professionals.

9. Open Hardware
Concepts and demonstration of open source hardware. Demonstration of
Nepaliuno a pure clone of Arduino
10. Open Gaming
• Counter Strike
• FIFA
• HALO
11. GB Satasat
If you like to exchange any games, softwares or movies from friends
then this event is surely for you. You can come with your hard disk or
pen drive and share your data; you can also copy the data from other's
storage too!
12. Developers' Ubuntu
It is a customized Ubuntu distribution for developers. It contains
almost all the tools required for development by research students and
professionals.
13. Open Art
In this event any one can come and flow their imagination into canvas,
you will get color pencils and paper for drawing.
14. Digital Photography and Competetion
In this event some theme is given in which the competitor has to make
advertisement.
15. Documentary show
Documentary related to latest development and future technology will
be shown.
16. Bingo
As a part of entertainment, Bingo will be played
17. Live Concert
At the end of the fest, a concert will be performed by the local
band.
18. College counseling
Introduction about Kathford College from
college management.
