First, can you find if it is a problem with:

1. hdd board (electronic circuits board you see at back of the hdd, pins)
2. physical head/platter/motor (it is sealed inside the hdd)

if the problem is with pt. no 2. there is little luck to fix it here in Nepal.


if the problem is with pt. no 1... most likely your data can be
recovered, even if you see smoke coming out of the hdd circuit board.

You may have to go to a computer repair shop and ask them to replace
your hdd "circuit board" with an identical circuit board with same
model number and see if it works. This might cost you half the price
of your hdd + repair charges, if the data is so imp. and you want to
take chances.
