On the contrary to your saying, we all are Admin of this list. If we fill that some post are not upto the expectation of the mailing list, we all can object to it. I /we hope that will itself stop those kind of matters. However, the role of list admin only come into action, when these kind of collective objection, does not work out. We have a total of seven admins for this list including myself. Also, if other community members are interested and could part some time, are also welcome to take on the responsibility in due time. For the post guidelines, we have all the detailed wiki page here. http://wiki.fossnepal.org/index.php?title=Mailing_List_Guidelines Further, If the community thinks that some of the guidelines are not in good practice, they can also edit it or recommend/propose changes as suitable. > There are seen much adv. than the useful mailings in the FOSS NEPAL > mailing lists now-a-days. > The section which specifically deals with the Advertisement or commercial message in the list is dealt by the bullet number 8. which says *"Use appropriate tags: There will be times when job-offerings, advertisements or some off-topic messages need to be posted. Before posting such messages, think to yourself if it is necessary. If it is, please append appropriate tags before the subject of your message. For example: [Commercial], [Job], [Ad] and [OT] for commercial, job-postings, advertisement and off-topic messages respectively. As an example, the subject could be: "[Job] Expert PHP Program wanted for a Kathmandu-based outsourcing company." More than one tags for a single mail are ok. I propose another tag [Nepali], read point. 11.* 1. *Cross-Posting: Cross-posting is when you post a single message to several mailing list and/or people. Don't do this unless absolutely necessary. This is generally considered a bad practice, but might be necessary too. Please append the subject of such mails with [X-Post]."* Thus, I would again repeat the inline from this section which says " *Before posting such messages, think to yourself if it is necessary. *" Hence, this list is our collective space and its our good sense which should prevail. Also, as you had pointed out that advertisement has been in rise recently, please do tag those threads as well with your comments and objection, so that we/everyone learns from our actions. Let the Source be with us all. with kind regards Hempal Shrestha > > -- > FOSS Nepal mailing list: [email protected] > http://groups.google.com/group/foss-nepal > To unsubscribe, e-mail: [email protected] > > Mailing List Guidelines: > http://wiki.fossnepal.org/index.php?title=Mailing_List_Guidelines > Community website: http://www.fossnepal.org/ > -- With kind regards, Hempal Shrestha Putalisadak, Near Share Market, Kathmnadu, Nepal +977-1-4261459 (O) / +977-9851077031(M) -- FOSS Nepal mailing list: [email protected] http://groups.google.com/group/foss-nepal To unsubscribe, e-mail: [email protected] Mailing List Guidelines: http://wiki.fossnepal.org/index.php?title=Mailing_List_Guidelines Community website: http://www.fossnepal.org/
