Not to discourage you but inform, It is better talk to Muni Bahadur Shakya.
He made first linux cluster based super computer way back. Probably he
worked on Linux and OpenMosix. Even LTSP + OpenMosix combination does
a good work.

I worked on test-for-self in my own lab in 2007 and dropped as I found
no practical application of such a deployment for my own need. It is
good for a learning purpose but be clear with your objective and go
ahead so that no distraction should limit you after you work.

My final suggestion, do it for personally if you want to work on it,
not because some one will give a credit to your work !!!
