Hello Sushil, First appreciating your interest to organize FOSS activities in you college.
We have done different kind of program in college, *FOSS ka kura* in College is one of the most popular program. Where we can talk what students want to know/learn about FOSS. We support student program, in terms of resources and efforts. I think definition of both term of wikipedia is enough to clear your confusion .
